Cheetah Print Project

{Description} This print was made by the process of rusting. I found this picture on the internet and then printed it in high contrast negative and black and white. Once I did this, I took the printed paper and used acetone to transfer the ink to the metal plate. I soaked a piece of larger paper in a vinegar bath and then left the metal plate on top so the ink would negate the rusting in some spots. after 4 hours of the plate sitting on the paper, i took it off and it left a really neat rusted cheetah. To add more detail, i took some colored pencils and added some color into the piece. In the background, i added blues to hint that it was a sky. To the tiger spots, i darkened them with black.
{Analysis} In this piece, the picture was already composed. The composition was pretty straight forward as the tiger was right in the middle of the page. The print emphasized high contrast due to the rusting. There was a lot of texture shown in the piece. The branch had many small details that brought the picture texture. Line was used a lot in this picture to give fine details.
